Frequently asked questions
What products does Eco Heating Systems supply?
We develop and manufacture central heating boilers, domestic hot water boilers, heat pumps, and hybrid heating systems. We are happy to advise you on our products and the possibilities for your specific location.
What is cheaper: heating boiler or a heat pump?
An electric heat pump is more than twice as cost-effective as a gas-fired boiler. For every 2 kWh of electricity a heat pump consumes, it delivers approximately 9 kWh of heat. To generate the same amount of heat using gas, 1 m³ of gas is required. This results in a cost of €0.58 per 9 kWh of heat for a heat pump, compared to €1.34 per 9 kWh of heat for a gas boiler.
Is it advisable to switch to a heat pump?
A heat pump is an excellent solution in most cases. It is important to consider a heat pump when your building is well insulated, there is sufficient space, the outdoor unit does not cause noise pollution and you would like to use less gas. A heat pump is less efficient when your building is poorly insulated or it causes too much nuisance. This might be common in residential areas.
What does a heat pump cost?
The initial heat pump installation costs may be high, but in the long term this is offset by low maintenance costs. Furthermore, the costs of a heat pump vary because of a number of different factors such as the amount of electricity power and the size of the building. We are happy to help you understand this.
Where is it not allowed to install a heat pump?
Depending on the project, there may be different requirements regarding the placement of the heat pump, such as a maximum noise level. In addition, a heat pump must always be able to draw in sufficient fresh air, so there must be enough clear space around the unit. For every project, we are happy to advise and work with you to find the best solution.
What is the amout of subsidy on a heat pump?
The ISDE subsidy (Netherlands) makes it possible to cover about 30% of the cost of a (hybrid) heat pump and its installation.
How much noise does a heat pump produce?
A heat pump does produce sound. The fans draw in outdoor air, which creates a soft humming noise. All Eco Heating Systems heat pumps comply with the legal requirements regarding heat pump noise levels. Read more about heat pump noise in our blog.
What does Plug&Play mean?
Plug&Play means a user-friendly installation and configuration method where a device is ready for immediately use after connection. Our domestic hot water boilers are pre-configured and tested, so that our installers can easily connect the domestic hot water boilers and end-users can easily start using them.
What is the time of delivery?
We can almost always deliver central heating boilers and domestic hot water boilers directly from stock. This means we can ship and deliver within one day. The delivery time for a heat pump is slightly longer, but this can easily be coordinated to ensure delivery at the desired time and location. Feel free to contact us to discuss delivery times.
Is it advisable to buy a new central heating boiler?
Buying a new central heating boiler may be beneficial in the short term. This is because modern central heating boilers are much more efficient than older models. In this way, it is possible to reduce energy consumption and ensure lower energy costs.

What is the difference between a central heating boiler and a domestic hot water boiler?
A domestic hot water boiler provides hot water directly for activities such as showering, washing your hands, or, in industrial settings, cleaning products. A central heating boiler supplies heat to radiators or underfloor heating within a closed heating circuit.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of a domestic hot water boiler?
A domestic hot water boiler will give you a lot of benefits.
- It provides instant hot water with no waiting time;
- They are designed for high efficiency;
- They can be easily combined with other systems.
- As a building owner, you save on gas consumption because the central heating system does not need to be used for heating domestic hot water
Some disadvantages of a tap water boilers are:
- The boilers require more frequent maintenance because they accumulate many operating hours.
- Installation costs are often slightly higher due to the use of buffer tanks and additional piping.
How do I maintain a boiler from Eco Heating Systems?
Maintenance of a boiler or domestic hot water unit is essential. Regular maintenance extends the lifespan of the unit and reduces the risk of malfunctions. Maintenance must be carried out by a specialist. Maintenance kits for all our devices can be ordered from Wasco or Rensa (The Netherlands).
Reading the fault history during maintenance
During a maintenance service of a central heating boiler from Eco Heating Systems, you can easily read the fault history. It is advisable to start with this step to gain a clear understanding of the boiler’s condition. Navigate in the menu to Menu / Information / Error Log to access the fault history. You can also read the fault history of boilers installed in a cascade configuration.

Error code: Fan speed fault
It may happen that you see an error code on the display related to the fan speed, such as “Fan speed too high”, “FAN_NOT_RUNNING”, or “FAN_TOO_FAST”.
The question then is whether the fault lies in the burner control unit or in the fan itself. The quickest and simplest way to check is to disconnect the PWM cable (Pulse Width Modulation). If the fan immediately runs at full power, the problem is in the burner control unit (e.g., broken cable, blown fuse, etc.). If the fan does not reach full power, the fan itself may be defective.
In the video on our YouTube channel, we show how to temporarily disconnect the PWM cable in the boiler to check where the fault is coming from.
How can I find out what type of boiler I have or what the serial number is?
The type of the boiler can be found on the label attached to the underside (inside) of the top panel. To read it you need to: Unscrew the boiler at the bottom. Then open the clamps at the underside and remove the front panel. You can then read the label on the inside.
