A comprehensive upgrade has been completed across eight government accommodation facilities in Ede, featuring high-efficiency central heating boilers and domestic hot water systems from Eco Heating Systems. The mechanical installations were carried out by ITN Installatietechniek based in Ede.
System Configuration and Project Objectives
Each facility was equipped with Ambassador central heating boilers arranged in a high-efficiency cascade configuration, alongside dedicated CD 80 appliances for domestic hot water production. The primary scope and engineering objectives realized per building included:
- Decentralization: Disconnecting the central plant room and entirely removing the district thermal network piping across the site.
- Infrastructure Upgrade: Decommissioning and dismantling the conventional district heating substation interfaces within each individual building, replacing them with independent gas connections routed from a central distribution station.
- Central Heating Cascade: Installing a standalone heating system comprising a cascade of 2x high-efficiency Ambassador+ 80 (A80) commercial boilers.
- Domestic Hot Water (DHW): Implementing a dedicated hot water plant consisting of 2x A-label CD+80 appliances paired with a 500-liter stainless steel (RVS) storage tank.

- Solar Thermal Integration: Integrating an Eco Heating Systems 1,000-liter stainless steel solar cylinder to work alongside the site's existing solar thermal arrays.
- System Overhaul: Overhauling, servicing, and connecting the existing solar collector panels to the newly updated plant room configuration.
- Control Optimization: Modernizing and configuring the building management system (BMS) and climate control electronics. Compliance: Fully assembling, testing, and commissioning the entire mechanical plant to meet all project specifications, strict safety regulations, and building codes.
